Questions about advertising in Germany
Everything buyers ask before their first booking here.
How much does it cost to advertise in Germany?
Prices start at €165 per week for a digital screen slot and run into five figures for a premium wallscape or a full bus fleet. The median billboard booking is €1,420 per week. Every figure is set by the owner of the space, and the listed price is what you pay.
How far ahead do I need to book?
Digital screens and radio can go live inside 48 hours if the file meets spec. Paper and vinyl need five to ten working days for print and posting. Hand-painted sites and fleet wraps need three weeks or more, because a crew and a depot slot have to be held.
Do I need permission to run a campaign?
The owner holds the planning consent and the operating licence for the space, so you are booking time on a site that is already consented. Creative still clears the owner's content rules — most sites exclude alcohol, gambling and HFSS categories, and some exclude competitors of an anchor tenant.
What happens if a site is never posted?
Payment is held until dated, GPS-tagged proof photography is approved. If the site goes up late, or does not go up at all, the money is returned to you instead of released to the owner.
Can I book more than one city in a single order?
Yes. Spaces in Berlin and Munich go into one order, are invoiced together, and each site returns its own proof set.
Buying advertising space in Germany
About this market
Admarket lists 3,910 advertising spaces across Germany, from Großflächen on the Berliner Ring to U-Bahn platform panels in Munich. Every space is posted by the company that owns or manages it, so the price on the listing is the price the owner set, and payment is held until your dated proof photography is approved.
The shape of the market
German inventory sits in the city networks rather than on the motorway. Berlin alone carries 742 spaces and 132 of them are transit, sold through the network operator on fixed cycles. Munich lists fewer spaces but prices about 12% higher than Berlin, pushed up by Altstadt-Lehel and Maxvorstadt footfall.
Timing a campaign
Booking cycles matter more here than in most markets. Classic poster formats run in Dekaden — fixed 10 or 11-day slots that start on set dates — so a two-week plan usually becomes two decades. Digital and radio are sold by the week and are the quickest way to get a campaign live before a launch date.
How booking and payment work
Whatever the format, the sequence is the same. You book the dates, the money sits with Admarket, the owner posts the site and uploads dated proof photography, and the payment is released once you approve it. If the proof does not match what you booked, you raise it before anything moves. Buyers pay the price on the listing — €165 per week at the bottom of the market, €1,420 per week for a median billboard site.

New lists are private until you invite someone. Saving a space never notifies the owner.
