What to check before buying

The four things that most often change the price of transit concessions after the first meeting.

  1. 1

    Concession term and renewal

The value is the unexpired term. Confirm whether renewal is automatic, negotiated or retendered in public.

  2. 2

    Minimum guarantee obligations

Most concessions carry a guaranteed payment to the operator whether or not you sell the inventory. Model it against the worst trading year on record.

  3. 3

    Access and install costs

Depot windows, vehicle availability and who pays for fitting. These sit outside the concession fee and are easy to underestimate.

  4. 4

    Operator relationship

Speak to the transport operator directly before completion. A concession is a working relationship, not just a document.

This is a starting checklist, not advice. Take your own legal and financial advice before signing anything.
